Apply to Administer Healthy Food Incentive Program
Organizations invited to help encourage FoodShare members to use their benefits to purchase fruits and vegetables
The Wisconsin Department of Health Services (DHS) is soliciting applications for nonprofits to administer the Healthy Food Incentive Program, designed by the state legislature under 2023 Wisconsin Act 201. This program seeks to incentivize FoodShare members to use their benefits to buy fruits and vegetables at eligible retailers throughout the state by matching the amount that they spend.
The nonprofits administering the program will, on a regional basis:
- Design the program structure.
- Conduct program outreach.
- Administer the program.
- Collect data on program activities to measure success.
To be eligible to apply for this award, applicants must be a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization with a base in Wisconsin.

Important dates
- Questions about the RFA must be sent to DHSDMSPass@dhs.wisconsin.gov by 11:59 p.m. CST on Friday, May 23.
- Submitted questions and their answers will be posted to the DHS website on Friday, May 30.
- Applicants must submit their application and a completed budget template to DHSDMSPass@dhs.wisconsin.gov by 11:59 p.m. CST on Friday, June 13.
